For WatchOS 4 I wanted to approach it differently than before. Previously we had always showcased the watch as well as the OS. This time though, I wanted to see how it felt to just focus on the UI to tell the story. The final page was simple and clear in its storytelling and one that I’m still proud of today.

Concept 1

This version stripped away everything to really showcase the UI updates. The watch would zoom in and out for the transition of sections, but stay fixed in the center on scroll. Ultimately we decided that we needed to showcase new bands that were set to release at the same time as the update, so we moved in on towards Concept 2.

 Concept 2

This version focused on showcasing the product a little better. We would eventually ditch the grey for a white background to improve contrast. The main concept holds true on this version. The only movement that occurs are on the screen so that we could focus the users on the updates themselves.

Getting closer! We would refine the layouts from here and remove the big type treatments.
